- PublicationA study on the factors affecting the adoption of cashless payment among consumers in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia(2025-03-04)Nurul Izzah Mohd MazlanThis paper aims to examine and analyse the relationship between the factors that influence the adoption of cashless payment among consumers in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia. The research model used concepts from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) which are perceived of usefulness and perceived ease of use. An additional four independent variables were used from the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) which are: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. To analyse the relationship between these variables, this research used an online questionnaire to gather the data from participants. A total of 231 people answered the survey. To go further into the understanding of the variables influencing consumers' use of cashless payment methods, this study conducted descriptive analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis to further analyse the variable. The adoption of cashless payment was shown to have a significantly positive influence on all independent variables. Meanwhile, when compared to another variable, performance expectancy has the most significant influence on using cashless payments by consumers in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The results obtained are expected to be essential to merchants, service providers, and the government to understand consumers' demands and concerns as Malaysia wants to transform into a cashless society. Amidst evolving economic conditions, a nuanced understanding of such relationships is essential for the development of informed policy and the sustenance of banking sector stability. Drawing upon data from the World Bank Open Data covering the period from 1998 to 2023, this study employs both correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis to examine the strength and nature of the correlations among the independent variables (unemployment rate, inflation, and interest rate) and their impact on the dependent variable, NPL rates. The investigation reveals a prominent relationship between interest rates and the rate of NPLs, indicating that fluctuations in interest rates have a significant potential to influence the performance of loans. In contrast, the variables of unemployment and inflation rates appear to have a minimal impact on the NPL landscape within Malaysia during the period under review. These findings bear critical implications for policymaking, suggesting a targeted approach towards interest rate management as a means to mitigate the risk of loans becoming non performing. By shedding light on the dynamics between key economic indicators and NPL rates, this study contributes to the broader discourse on financial system resilience and offers strategic insights for enhancing the long-term stability of Malaysia's banking industry .Keywords: Relationships, Impacts, Non-Performing Loans (NPLs), Unemployment, Inflation, Interest Rate

Economic growth, urbanization, CO2 emission level and foreign direct investment were selected as independent variables, with renewable energy as dependent variable. Examining the relationships between renewable energy adoption and other independent variables is the goal of this project, which makes use of quantitative data from 1992 to 2023. Another objective is to investigate the structure of this interaction in boththe short and long run. This study applied the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to identify significant short and long run correlations between renewable energy and the variables presented. The statistical package EViews and Microsoft Excel were utilized for the analysis. The results highlight how important it is to understand the complex interactions that occur between macroeconomic determinants and renewable energy.
