Abstract
This research delves into the intricate relationship between macroeconomic variables and fertility rates in Malaysia, utilizing data spanning 35 years from various
reliable sources. The study focuses on fertility rates as the dependent variable, examining the influences of independent variables such as women's education,
inflation, and economic growth. Employing correlation analysis and multiple regression techniques, the research scrutinizes the nuanced interactions and impacts
of these variables on fertility rates. Results indicate significant negative relationships and impacts of women's education on fertility rates, aligning with global trends. Conversely, inflation and economic growth do not demonstrate statistically significant associations with fertility rates. Considering these findings, recommendations are provided for policymakers to address the identified issues. The study advocates for targeted educational initiatives aimed at empowering
women and promoting family planning to mitigate fertility declines. Additionally, it proposes policies to alleviate financial burdens associated with raising children, including tax incentives and childcare subsidies. Furthermore, the research highlights the importance of promoting economic stability and gender equality to foster an environment conducive to higher fertility rates. By addressing these factors, Malaysian authorities can effectively address the challenges posed by declining fertility rates and work towards sustainable population growth.
