Abstract
This thesis describes the study on the hydrogen addition in an engine. The objective of this project is to identify the effects of hydrogen addition in an engine and do some comparison between hydrogen addition in petrol or gasoline engines and diesel engines. In order to make comparison, collecting the data or results from other researches papers and compiled in a graph form. The methodology used is doing only research based on other people's researches and interprets and concludes from that. From the compiled graphs, it has been obtained that with hydrogen added into the engine both petrol and diesel has better performance and less emission can be seen. Hydrogen as an alternative fuel in the combustion engine has some effects on the integration of hydrogen such as knocking and backfire, pre-ignition and so forth. By comparing the graphs compiled, the best emissions and performance of hydrogen added engine can be identified.
