Abstract
Since prepayment electricity meter been introduced in Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), it drops the electricity abusing among tenants. However, few problems arise as there is only one place to reload the credit meter which is the administration building. Tenants whose majority are students feel burden to top up the prepaid meter because the administration building is located at far distance from the apartments. There is also strict time for tenants to reload their credit meter since the administration building only opens during working hours. This paper presents the proposed software development with the idea to build vending kiosk inside UNITEN that enables reload transaction process. The logical design structure is built by using the data transmission between the personal computers and smart card. Programming command is develop inside Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 to perform the credit increment and read the credit balance. There are five main chapters that describe the important points of the project. The first chapter gives brief on the purpose and scope of the project as the introduction to the project proposed. Some reviews are compiled on the second chapter in order to broaden the view not only on the project but to all the related work involved. The third chapter will explains step by steps methodology to gain the outcomes. All the results obtained are present on chapter four followed by some discussion based on the output results. The last chapter wraps the thesis with conclusions and some recommendations for future development.
