Abstract
Wireless data acquisition for Solar PV Angular Modulator is not a new technology in solar energy. Most of the solar PV angular modulator system is highly cost and some of it are not user friendly. Thus, this project is to design and develop a which is low cost, user friendly and have the optimum performance. This system consists of two main part. First is the solar PV angular modulator and secondly is wireless data acquisition. Using PIC16F877A as the controller, this will ensure the PV panel to harvest the solar energy at optimum. A source code was developed and the prototype was built and tested. The idea of the system was to make the PV panel follow the sun. The working mechanism is the microcontroller compares the temperature from two sensor. Then, it will rotate the PV panel towards the sensor that has highest temperature. At the same time, the microcontroller send the temperature wirelessly to the PC. The PC is ran with MATLAB and use serial communication to retrieved the data transfer. The data will be compared with the fixed PV panel to measure the performance.
