Abstract
ABSTRACT
From the case study at UNITEN’s library, the current bookshelf is not too friendly. Staff needs to pull away from the partition and can cause pain in the body. This also slows down the process of inventory check as well as book arrangement. Therefore, this project aims to propose a new bookshelf design for UNITEN library. By using ergonomic tools and AutoCAD software, I developed a new bookshelf which is fitted with ergonomic specification as well as low cost.
The main factors that affect the design were the modification cost and the size of existing bookshelves inside UNITEN’s library. Designing a product based on customer needs which is important and has to be flexible.
