Abstract
Lignocellulosic biomass is an alternative source but its availability is poorly documented. This review discusses the bioethanol production from rice husk by liquid fermentation. in developing countries, with limited natural resources, biomass is cheapest replacement of fossil fuels, which is freely available hence in the present study an attempt was made to convert the rice husk to alternative fuels through biological means by fermentation method. The glucose concentration produced at optimum rice husk pretreated liquid(2M, ph 4.7, 90min) condition is 96.337 g/L. For the enzymatic hydrolysis most of the glucose were released in 48 hour which is 50.728 g/L. Next, the average glucose(reducing) produce at 12 hour is 6.247(g/L) and lastly at 72 hour is 0.0751(g/L).
