Abstract
The main objective of this thesis is to design and to develop electromagnet propelled wheel prototype. The design of the electromagnetic wheel functions to produce electricity from kinetic energy. The idea of this project is to use a kinetic energy which produces by the rotation of the wheel to recharge the battery as the electrical energy that store in the battery is used to reduce the using of gasoline and petrol in vehicles. The study of producing or generating electricity is done by doing some revision on the electromagnetic force. Electricity is generating using rotation of the wheel attached to the rotor inside the stator that rotate together with the wheel. The using of copper coils in the winding for every cylinder of the stator need to be done manually to reduce the loss of the energy due to the friction of electron or also known as resistance. The design have been made and chosen appropriately to reduce energy loss and hardy resistance properties while maintaining its reliability. Thus, the electromagnetic wheel can generate electricity with optimum the cost of the coil and magnet component. The electromagnetic wheel is designed based on the low cost, efficiency, reliability, and hardy to make sure the project is done successfully. The experiment and testing is performed based on the different speed of wheel rotation and theoretical experiment which is based on the number turns of the winding coil. The data is tabulated and analyzed to improve the performance of electromagnetic wheel. Data analysis shows that the electromagnetic wheel can be used to recharge the battery and reducing the use of petrol and gasoline in the transportation industry.
