Abstract
This paper is generally about the renewable energy and energy efficiency under the title of Optimization of Solar and Wind Energy Utilization with Energy Storage in a residential area at Terengganu for 10000 houses, which is equivalent to 9 MW of load demand. For the optimization, the cost has been taken as the objective function for this research. A few literature reviews have been made before attempting to go further into this project. Based on the literature review, the behavior of natural power source has been studied and utilized. Initially, the optimization method is a method that use fundamental blocks from scratch and do the analysis after the circuit has been constructed. But this method cannot be continued due to problems with the MATLAB Function block and the breaker. Henceforth, a new method is proposed that called as Fuzzy Logic method. This method works good in dispatching the power from various types of supply such as solar, wind, and Hybrid Energy Storage System (HESS) which consist of battery and supercapacitor. Further in this paper, the results shown a very significant difference between the cost of hybrid renewable energy with the only power generator cost.
