dc.description.abstractDigitalisation has enabled ubiquity in the work environment, where employees now have more freedom to work anytime and anywhere. Traditionally, work has been largely completed within the confines of an office and kept apart from personal life. Recent decades have seen these boundaries becoming less distinct due to increased connectivity made possible by the advancement of technology. Leveraging workplace digitalisation, organisations are moving towards working from home, embracing a more flexible working (FW) arrangement and autonomy. While this arrangement has been advocated as more accommodating and flexible, the fact remains that there is a risk of infringing on employees� personal lives and negatively affecting their work-life balance (WLB). This was particularly evident during the recent lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Post-pandemic work from home arrangements are here to stay, and technology and digitisation are proven to be the enabling factors.
