Abstract
A controller for solenoid valves for irrigation systems has been developed to optimize water use for Lemon Myrtle crops. This project aims to help farmers manage their irrigation systems using electronic devices to control valves and monitor the whole crop zone utilising the drone. A prototype consisting of critical components such as a microcontroller, solenoid valves, and Bluetooth module as transmitter and receiver for the drone was fabricated and tested to see the performance. The primary outcome of this idea is that the crop, lemon myrtle, will receive accurate time monitoring and an optimum water supply. Proper tracking can maintain the growth of the crops and boost the production of lemon myrtle. Furthermore, energy can be saved both for machinery and humans because this system utilized solar power to run the system instead of conventional ways that use diesel generators and drones to monitor whole crop zones. 2021 IEEE.
