Abstract
Nowadays the usage of Distributed Generation (DG) has become popular and vital element in electrical power system network. Distributed Generation can be integrated into distribution network system in order to meet the increasing load demand of the consumer. DG plays an important role in present scenario for example it is able to cope the increased of power demand and to meet out the peak load demand in distribution system. DG as a small scale generation source located at or near load centre is usually deployed within the distribution network system. Presence of DG has many positive impact such as reducing transmission and distribution network congestion, reducing power losses, enhancing voltage profiles and also improved the power quality at the consumer terminal. This project presents a technique in order to get optimal location and sizing of distributed generation for economic operation in power system using artificial immune system (AIS) optimization technique. This project will be able to reduce the real power after DG been implemented and used AIS optimization technique as a medium to get the optimal result. The proposed technique is tested on the IEEE 26 test bus system. The results is compared between placing DG manually in the system with the randomly placed DG in the system.
