Abstract
Sintering is one of a method used in the production industry in producing parts and components. In sintering, metal powders mixture and ceramic powders mixture are used as the base material in producing the product. Sintering works by heating the compacted powder before its melting point, it was called liquefaction point. The objective of it is to let the powder particle undergo from solid phase to liquid phase so that the bonding between the powder particles is accelerated. When undergo sintering process, changes occur in the physical properties, electrical properties, mechanical properties and molecular properties can be observed. Before sintering process, typically the powder need to go through powder compaction process first to form a product called green compact. During the powder compaction process, a uniaxial pressure will be applied on the powder inside the die-wall. This is to partially increase the densification of the powder particles and mould the powder into desired shape and design. Full densification process of the powder particles will take place during the sintering process because high level of temperature will be applied on the green compact because of the ability of the powder particles to exaggerate the powder particles to bond with each other.
