Abstract
Energy as we all know, can be categorized into renewable and non-renewable energy. Renewable energy is the way to go as it produces clean energy without any negative effects on our environment compared to non-renewable energy. Among the various sources of renewable energy, wind energy has the highest potential as it can meet the world's entire energy demand if developed efficiently. The main purpose of this thesis, is to develop an IOT based system which is able to measure wind speed and direction. The speed and direction of the wind measured should be able to be observed using devices that has access to internet. Before proceeding with the project, a lot of research was done in terms of renewable energy, wind energy, internet of things, (IOT) and development of wind energy at Malaysia. Various forms of articles, journals from various sources were studied as part of the process. The model was developed by combining the necessary hardware purchased from various sources. Once the model was developed, testing was done to ensure that the model works as intended and data obtained could be observed using internet. Testing process was carried out with various wind speed and different directions. Results obtained were then observed and further potential for this model is then discussed.
