This paper outlines the simplistic approach of estimating one of the characteristic parameters particularly the ideality factor, for a PV module with no datasheet parameters. The approach proposed by the authors generally explains the procedures of the PV module modeling process via the assisting works of real measurement and simulation. With the matching of the I-V curves between the simulated and measured data, the characteristic parameters can be determined with the resultant errors computed. Extensive works are added in the progress of data analysis and interpretation for results evaluation, in which further assist in the development of the algorithm using the renowned numerical software. 2017 IEEE.en_US
