Abstract
Urban areas are exposed to high traffic volume that can associate to the source of noise pollution. Noise pollution is ranked as the third most harmful environmental pollution after air and water. The objective of this study is to investigate the level of traffic noise pollution at the residential area of Puchong, Selangor. This study is carried out at two residential areas. The traffic volume and noise level data are collected at three different time intervals during weekday and weekend. A survey is conducted to investigate level awareness and health effect on surrounding affected communities. The result showed the traffic noise is ranging from 65 to 84 dB(A) during weekday and weekend. Based on the survey conducted, most of respondents aware that traffic is the highest contributor to noise pollution.
