Abstract
In this generation, technology has been going through a lot of improvement and advancement including electric vehicle technology. After all these years, electric vehicle can now travel long distances and have better battery efficiency. Look on first electric vehicle, it only can travel several distances and with poor battery efficiency and these make old generation electric vehicle have been replaced by a fuel combustion vehicle or other vehicle. After going through all this, electric vehicle nowadays have become more popular because it brings lots of benefits like it doesn’t bring any pollution, it now can travel longer distances and others.
Electric vehicle uses electricity to run, so it need to be recharged. During charging, it will produce some impact such as harmonic, voltage drop and power loss. This project will look into impact of electric vehicle charging and focus on harmonic analysis on grid connected electric vehicle. This project will look at how much harmonic will produce when charging and how to reduce harmonic to make the system better by using Matlab software. This project will also look into which type of battery is more suitable for electric vehicle and what control strategy can be used.
This project will also show results of analysis for harmonic and how much harmonic been reduced using a filter. Harmonic will affect the system so this project have shown that harmonic can be reduced by using filters. The analysis is done by using Matlab software.
