dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this project is to design applications based on Android Platform operating system to provide a simple, reliable, efficient, cost effective and accurate bus management system for Putrajaya. Most of the government servants living in Putrajaya are using the public bus to go to work. However, the bus arrival time at the public bus stops are not always according to the scheduled or even worst, the bus may not be in operation due to breakdown. The idea of this project is to give a real time feedback to the bus commuters on the status of the bus. Other than that, this application is also including the need for the school bus services in Putrajaya. The parents will have the information of their child availability and the distance of the bus to their home. Android platform is chosen because it is a popular operating system nowadays plus it is an open source and provide lots of future possibilities in the world of smart-phone. The applications will be built for both the user side and bus driver side. Currently, there is nowhere in Malaysia having such system yet.
