Abstract
Alternate sources of energy supply are becoming increasingly important in today's
environmentally aware world. As part of renewable energy generation, the amount of
solar energy that is being generated as a protection for lack of traditional energy sources
has increased substantially in Malaysia. Solar power is one of the sources of Earth's
green electricity. The use of solar or photovoltaic cells that directly transform sunlight
into electricity can be used for this purpose. EVs are an environment-friendly solution
for modern cities’ transportation as a substitution for the traditional internal combustion
engine vehicles. Charging station is an infrastructure of electric system designed for
recharging electric vehicles. The project aims to support the university in providing
environmentally friendly and affordable electricity and reducing the load on the
country's grid. The project involves charging 48-volt battery sets using eight 250W solar
panels to provide discreet power at different times of the day. In this paper, a complete
module power generation system based on an off-grid PV was designed and simulated
using HelioScope software. The value of standard solar irradiance was monitored. This
paper also designs a standalone power supply and solar panel and presents the results
via HelioScope.
