O-2223 superconductor synthesis was performed using co-precipitation process. The precursor powders were prepared to maintain a purity of 99 per cent. Once the early preparations were finished, the synthesis was conducted at pre-calcination temperature at 730°C for 12 hours. Calcination was then performed for 24 hours at two separate calcination temperatures at 840°C and 845°C to analyse the effect of heat treatment on the properties and microstructures of the sample. The sample was reground and pressed into pellets ranging in weight from 1-1.5 g. Sintering was then began at both temperatures at 840 ° C and 845 ° C for 48 hours, and cooled down at 120 ° C / h. In order to research the microstructural behaviour of the BSCCO samples, few experiments had been performed such as X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), four-point probe testing (Tc) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis.en_US
