Abstract
This paper reports an innovative construction method for high permeable concrete pavers with filter made of Andesite aggregate to remove heavy metals such as lead (Pb), Copper (Cu),and Zinc (Zn) from stormwater before being discharged directly into waterways. Several tests have been carried out on the Andesite aggregate to determine its ability of removing Pb, Cu, and Zn, from contaminated water, such as organic content value, PH value, batch equilibrium, and exchange capacity cation test. Andesite showed cation exchange capacity value (CEC) superlative with range between 171.23meq / 100g to 204.18meq / 100g. The high value of CEC andesite show that andesite have higher adsorptive heavy metal capacity.
