With deeper penetration of renewable energy and the increasing number of electric vehicle (EV), it is important to have an economic dispatch of the power grid. A microgrid is a decentralized group of electricity sources that consists of solar photovoltaic (PV), energy storage system and vehicles-to-grid technology which EV is able to charge and discharge based on the different conditions. The economic dispatch strategy is to reduce the operating cost of the micro-grid system and maximize the use of energy storage systems while complying with all the constraints. Four different case studies of micro-grid economic dispatch considering EV were investigated, which includes two optimization algorithm such as linear programming and heuristic search, and whether vehicle-to-grid (V2G) was implemented. The result shows that linear programming method along with V2G implementation achieved the best performance in reducing the operating cost and peak load demand of the micro-grid system. 2021 IEEE.en_US
