Abstract
In this project the proposed concept is to replace the manual work in drainage cleaning by an automated system. Nowadays even though automation plays a vital role in public area where the cleaning of open drainage system is a challenging task. Open Drainage system are used to flow rain water to river or sea. Unfortunately sometimes there may be are blockages in the drainage due to rubbish disposal by human being or fall leaf and branches. Maintaining an open channel drains is important due to its direct contact with people and also can be a medium to spread diseases unlike the closed channel drains It is also important to highlight this issue in order to prevent from few complications such as the occurring of flash flood due to the clogged drainages, living of pesticides such as rats and mosquitoes in the drainage and many more. Therefore to overcome this problem and to reduce the burden of human life an implementation of an Automatic Portable Open Drain Cleaner Machine is designed. This project is an idea to use this machine in efficient way to remove of rubbish and unwanted materials from drainage system. The design of this prototype consists of few important mechanisms including sprocket and chain, 12V DC motor, teeth and wheels. All the working mechanism have been studied in order to give a good performance as a prototype. The size of the automatic portable open drain cleaner machine is portable and small in size in order to clean drainage that has a closed cover where it would be difficult for man power to clean and monitor the drainage.
