In the global push to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, there is a pressing need for countries to have dynamic strategies and solutions to address this urgent dilemma of balancing economic development and achieving carbon neutrality. Hence, this paper examines the current state of Malaysia?s carbon neutrality policy and implementation by exploring key governmental initiatives introduced in recent years. It also identifies the challenges faced by the nation in achieving carbon neutrality in terms of status and initiatives. Lastly, it highlights relevant macro- and microlevel approaches as solutions that could be used in Malaysia to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 successfully. ?
