Abstract
This work focuses on the investigation of multiwavelength performance based on two comb filters: Lyot filter and Sagnac loop mirror (SLM) interferometer. Better performance of multiwavelength spectrum has been obtained when utilizing the Lyot filter as it generates more lasing lines of 84 spectral lines within 5 dB bandwidth, while the SLM interferometer generated lesser lasing lines of 61 channels within 5 dB bandwidth. Both comb filters have almost similar values in peak power, while the extinction ratio of 12 dB and 16.3 dB for Lyot and SLM interferometer, respectively. Ultimately, a stable multiwavelength performance has been obtained for both comb filters, with only 0.57 dB of peak power fluctuation within 2 hours of the stability test. 2022 IEEE.
