Abstract
Attached growth system to treat wastewater has been in practice for many years. It has been the main concern as it is using media such as slag, rock, plastic and other materials that can be used as a physical bed on which the biofilm will develop. A numerous research has been done in Malaysia by using attached growth system. However there are advantage and disadvantage of using attached growth system. Therefore, this paper presents the overview on how far the attached growth system has been implementing in terms of authorities involved and type of attached growth treatment process that has been used in Malaysia. � 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
