Water is extremely essential in in the regulation of climate and to sustain the lives of all living things. It is definitely the most vital compound that greatly affects life in so many different ways. However, heavy industrial development activities and extensive use of chemicals in the growing agricultural industries are leading to massive pollution of our water sources. The deterioration of these aquatic environment leads to a tremendous decline in our water quality and the depletion of aquatic life. This, in turn, causes our human population to ail from water borne diseases due to consumption of the heavily contaminated water. Besides that, countries with extremely dry climates suffer from water shortages very often. Many lives are lost to dehydration in these countries every day. Hence, it is important that alternative sources of water are discovered and developed in order to be implemented in these countries immediately. As a result, many have been turning to the collection of water from dew in the atmosphere for a supply of clean drinking water. The air around us, as we know, contains water vapour or moisture that can then be harvested and treated for consumption. This study will encompass the theories involved in this water harvesting process to overcome this water crisis that many people suffer from.
