The increase in energy demand also rising the voltage issues during the transmission phase to customers. This is because to meet the energy demand, new power plants are needed. With new technologies, renewable energy seems favorable. Renewable energy mainly generates electricity from natural resources such as wind, solar or water. The advantage of natural resources is that they will not be exhausted. This can decrease the cost to generate electricity. The location that abundance with natural resources is in a rural area. The voltage rise from the Ferranti effect along the transmission line has been affected by the system and electrical equipment with no load or low load environment. Thus a study to find the effect of the Ferranti effect and the method to mitigate the effect has been done in the simulation in Matlab Simulink software. The result from the simulations has shown the Ferranti effect appears in the transmission with the parameter set constant with the calculated value. After the mitigation using the shunt inductor, the voltage rise can be controlled at the receiving end of the transmission line. Therefore research about the Ferranti effect from the generation power plant in a rural area had been done.en_US
