This thesis presents a research work on the mechanical properties of various volume fraction of bagasse fiber reinforced epoxy versus bagasse/coir hybrid composites. In this research, the tensile and flexural properties of the composites were examined and compared between both composites. Different weightage ratio (Wt%) of fibers was used to investigate the effect on the mechanical performance of the composites. Compression molding method is utilized to fabricate the composite specimens. During the fabrication process, alkaline treatment is done in this research to remove unwanted elements from the fiber and improve the interlocking between the fibers. Hence, better results could be obtained. In overall, the higher composition of fibers has improved the tensile and flexural strength of the composites. The bagasse/coir reinforced composite has better mechanical properties compared to the bagasse fibers as the addition of coir fiber into the bagasse composite enhanced the mechanical properties.en_US
