Abstract
The abundant rainfall in Malaysia will be fully utilized in this power generation system through a gutter roof system, down into a series of pipelines which leads to store energy of electricity through turning of the water turbine generator. The system comprises of several subsystems that build the whole system which shows the rainwater flow and usage from the start to disposal. This project is used the technology of cross flow of rainwater which collected and stored in the water tank. In order to achieve its highest efficiency, a reasonable prototype of water tank and water turbine generator is established by the theory of fluid mechanics to obtain the height difference of the optimal water turbine generator distribution and the optimal height of water storage. As the result, the system is generating several amount of power that can be used as a backup source at home such as powering low watt’s light and charging cell phone. The system can generate power for the prototype which 1.5 W and about 5.3 kW per hour. Finally, this project is not only estimated the economic performance of rainwater generation, but also proposed the development trend of the future technology for rainwater generation. [1]
