dc.description.abstractA large problem has arisen in Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) whereby students are illegally entering the Cendekiawan Apartment parking compound by sharing their parking access cards. This leads to overload of vehicles in the parking area. Therefore, a more efficient system is needed to curb this overwhelming problem. Research was done on past works on the development of the ALPDR system. Then, a suitable methodology was designed using the Raspberry Pi 4 and softwares such as OpenALPR and Node-Red. Basic designs for a mobile application, web application and database were also developed. Experimentation and testing were done to determine the effectiveness of the developed ALPDR system. However, there were problems faced throughout this phase that prevented better results from being obtained. Future works and recommendations were then suggested to further improve upon this project so better results can be achieved.en_US
