T Work at retail store or supermarket will experience physical stress and may lead staff to experience work-related musculoskeletal pain like low-back pain (LBP), carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), or tendonitis of the shoulder. Work-related musculoskeletal syndrome disease (WMSDs) are a prevailing impairment and staff turnover cause, decreased productivity and increased costs of production. Moreover, WMSDs at workplace have been thoroughly researched and its general tendency that the work itself is a significant symptom of musculoskeletal syndrome disease (MSDs). All of the occupational diseases stated before are associated with ergonomics domain. Despite that, purposing ergonomics interventions are able to avoid such injuries or diseases. The main workload activities in the workplace are mainly coming from physical activities such as lifting, carrying and pushing or pulling. Therefore, this study begins with sampling by assessing risk factor at three different stores which subjected to physical workload and workplace layout and purposing ergonomics interventions with cost justification. The workplaces chosen are electrical store, hardware store and supermarket. The assessments used in this study are Initial Ergonomics Risk Assessment and Cornell Musculoskeletal Discomfort Questionnaire to identify the risk factors. It has been identified most of the workers at each workplace have discomfort on shoulders, legs regions and back that intervene their work. Hence, this study can purpose ergonomics interventions with cost justification by using Washington State Cost Benefit Calculator to minimize the risk exposure due to WMSD, improve productivity and increase participation of higher level of hierarchy in the organizations.en_US
