Abstract
This research aims to propose a conceptual framework that links Personal and Technological Factors with Electric Vehicle (EV) adoption in Oman, and to test the validity and reliability of the research model. Based on the Social Cognitive Theory, the framework contained Omani Social Norms, Perceived Usefulness (as Personal Factors), the Governments Personnel Information Technology IT Competencies, Electric Vehicles System Quality, and the Lack of charging infrastructure (as Technological Factors) as independent variables
with Electric Vehicles in Oman (as dependent variable). The researcher followed the quantitative research methodology by testing the score of Cronbach Alpha as a measurement of the Reliability of the scale, and Person correction as a measurement of the research model validity. The researcher used the mean of the survey questionnaire as a research instrument, on which the researcher developed a 26 items questionnaire and distributed 30 questionnaires. The findings of this study revealed that the scores of the Cronbach Alpha for all of the constructs achieved a satisfactory level of scale reliability. In addition, the Pearson Correlation between all Social Norms, Perceived Usefulness, Personnel IT Competencies, System Quality, and the Lack of charging infrastructure with the EV have all been found to be statistically significant. 2023, World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society.
