Most petrol pumps still operate physically and have poor management, which results in time-consuming, requiring extra workers and unorganized management. A smart pump automation system using an IoT platform is proposed to automate the pumping process, fuel status and transaction activities for use by three types of users; customer, admin (authorized person - employees, managers etc.) and management team - vendor, gas station owners, supplier etc.). The main objective of the proposed system is to provide a fully automated progressive web application for petrol station and integrates it with an IoT pump that will automate the petrol pump to make it easier for customers. In addition, the proposed system helps the vendor and management team to keep track of their pump details accurately. Technically, the developed system consists of the customer part, where the web application is connected to a Raspberry PI pump to simulate the act of purchasing real fuel. When a customer makes a purchase through the app, the pump will be triggered based on the value in liters and the type of fuel selected by the user. Several menus such as top-up, purchase history, QR code and feedback have been added for customers, in order to make it easier for them to keep records of their previous usage. The system also consists of vendor parts that will be used by employees, managers, and gas station owners. Information such as customer lists, current fuel prices and transaction lists can be obtained directly in real-time through the system. To note, this work is limited to the design and development stage only. ? 2024 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.en_US
