Abstract
Landslide is one of the world's catastrophes that affect enormous economic loss and the common interference nowadays. Every year, many landslide cases reported, either at natural slopes or man-made. Erosion and landslide are mainly occurring at hilly area and will cause failure to the tower structure. Transmission tower is usually locates at remote area which is covered by hilly topography. When landslides occur at hilly area, it will affect the national electricity supply. Therefore, we must predict the failure behavior to prevent the loss. Landslide failure modeling using LUSAS analysis software was introduced to predict the failure at transmission tower area. The study area is Kenyir - Tanah Merah transmission line. The rainfall data, water level data, inclinometer data and moisture content data are recorded for analysis. The parameters then were substitute into LUSAS software and SLOPE-W software for verification of the risk model. Then factor of safety (FOS) in SLOPE-W in each different ground water level will be compare. This research found that correlation between rainfall and ground water level and type of soil. Besides that, increasing of ground water level would cause decreasing of plane stress of soil.
