dc.description.abstractAir conditioner has become essential in our everyday life in Malaysia as the weather is extremely hot nowadays. Throughout the years, air conditioner has been improving on the aspect of the output air quality but not much improvement has been made in terms of its ease of access. Therefore, the idea of creating a smart air conditioner controller with the application of IoT (Internet of things) is proposed. The aim for this project is to create a solution for air conditioners to be controlled through the internet and to make an improvement regarding the ease of access of controlling the air conditioner instead of the conventional way of controlling air conditioner which is by using a remote control. This thesis introduces the smart air conditioner controller with IoT application through utilizing the NodeMCU microcontroller. The NodeMCU microcontroller offered the ability to automate processes associate with inputs and outputs. The implementation of MQTT adafruit provides the ease to control the air conditioner over smartphone application. A prototype which can function properly and represent the actual design of the device was developed. The results and functions of the prototype assembled has been compared with other brands of smart air conditioner controller in the current market.en_US
