dc.description.abstract | Partial discharge is a dielectric breakdown of the insulation system. It generally happened due to high voltage stress in the electrical insulation and can lead to damage of the electrical equipment. Thus, it can cause huge amount of loss to the company or industry. Therefore, the partial discharge measurement is important to monitor the insulation system of the equipment. This paper is about the measurement of the artificial partial discharge sources that all the samples models of the experiment have been produced by a 3D printer to replicate the actual material in the industrial field. There are four types of artificial defects that have been designed by using the 3D software such as one internal void, two internal voids, surface treeing and the internal treeing. All the sample models are in circular shape and have similar size. The experiment has been carried out at High Voltage lab supervised by the supervisor and it is using the conventional partial discharges technique IEC 60270. The PRPD patterns for all the sample model have been successfully obtained and being analyzed. | en_US |
