| dc.description.abstract | Development nowadays growth tremendously from day to day due to increasing rate of population all over the world including Malaysia. Development such as high rise structure, residential housing area, highway development, public transport facilities infrastructure such as MRT, involve both on ground and underground construction. Indirectly, it will involve different type of soil profile and we need to consider the worst case outcome. For example, construction of structure on top of soft soil, to be exact is peat soil. Peat soil is well known as its reputation for agriculture purposes but not for structural loading. Therefore, effective treatment is needed to make sure peat soil can withstand structural loading. This project will determine the ability of peat soil in the term of shear strength and settlements. | |
