Abstract
The transition towards a low-carbon economy has both challenges and prospects for the natural gas sector, which plays a vital role in the global energy composition. In order to ensure the long-term viability of natural gas in the transition towards a low-carbon economy, it is crucial to adopt a comprehensive approach that takes into account environmental, technological, policy, and market factors. To expand its position as a dependable and environmentally friendly energy partner in the global energy transition, it is expedient to embrace innovation, reinforcing regulations, and promoting collaboration. Natural gas extraction, production, and use have an influence on the environment, including water consumption and methane emissions, despite its benefits. Resolving these issues through enhanced industry practices, laws, and technology is necessary to achieve sustainability. This study provides a foundation for a comprehensive examination of these topics, providing valuable perspectives on the changing state of natural gas sustainability in the context of wider initiatives to address climate change and attain lasting environmental objectives. ?
