Performance of protective relaying are affected when distributed generation is implemented in the conventional power system network. This project will study about the performance of protective relaying before and after DG installation while maintaining the power system stability. The stability of the system must be maintained all the time to ensure the reliability and security of supply. Distance relay of Mho characteristic is chosen to determine the relay performance towards applied fault in the system. IEEE-118 Bus will be used as the test system using PSSE software. The improvement, suggestion and recommendation on protective relaying performance for future works are also discussed in this thesis.
