Economic Dispatch (ED) is a substantial optimization issue in the power system operation. The aim of ED is to reduce the operating cost of the total power generation output. This project proposed a Hybrid Immune Evolutionary Programming (IEP) to solve economic dispatch of generators with prohibited operating zones. The proposed algorithm was conducted on IEEE 26-Bus Reliability Test System (RTS). Futhermore, the IEP was tested on three case studies with different load conditions such as no-load increment, 50% load increment and 100% load increment. The comparison of results between IEP and load flow shows that IEP outperformed load flow (non-optimal) solution in terms of obtaining lower operating costs.
