dc.description.abstractNowadays, spot cooling are one of the home automation technique which are used in everyday life in the aim to reduce the power consumption and conserve energy. By using the technique of spot cooling, a desired spot to direct the air vent for air conditioning device can be identified. The problem with such technique are the use of tracking method such as heat sensors or infrared sensors which have their own limitations and thus impede its ability to detect the desired space for cooling. Other technique of detection used before are localization based on signal strength or RSSI value to differentiate its distance thas determine the location. There are also method of spot cooling which are dividing the room into zone and only cool down the occupied zone. Introducing the smart trackable decoy devices into the spot cooling technique can help producing a cheap solution to the problem of detection the desired spot. The setup will only require Bluetooth low energy (BLE) module as a decoy which can transmit signal value to be mapped by another BLE module thus every time the scan is done it will automatically recognized the initial mapping location.
