In comparison to single-rotor wind turbines, dual-rotor wind turbines have recently been designed to increase wind capture and power generation. However, in low wind speed areas with average wind speeds of less than 4 m/s, the wind turbine struggles to function and operate at its best. In this paper, different dual rotor wind turbine geometries are designed and simulated using computational fluids dynamic software and optimized using response surface methodology to compare the performance of the wind turbine. The main objective is to investigate the effect of different blade materials on different wind speeds to the performance of the wind turbine by using ANSYS WORKBENCH R2 and choose the best blade material for the wind turbine by using Design Expert 13. Wind turbines have been analyzed at a different wind speeds of 2 m/s, 3m/s and 4 m/s. Three different blade materials are compared to the force performance in this study. The wind turbine performance was also investigated numerically. In this research work, lift force and drag force are the parameter that determines the thermal performance of the heat sinks. The findings revealed dual rotor wind turbine with carbon fiber blade was the best to be used in low wind speed areas. ? 2024 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.en_US
