Abstract
Traffic congestion has been a serious problem in many cities in Malaysia, ever since the
escalated industrialisation and urbanisation process began. Frequent traffic congestion
has caused the society to suffer efficiency loss in terms of idle time on the roadespecially
in major cities. To overcome this problem, public transport need to take over the
transportation in city area. Maraliner Malaysia, a corporate body owned by the
Malaysian federal government has introduce MyBas Terengganu in i20018, as the main
public transport operator within Terengganu. However, this bus service had some setbacks and passengers had voiced their dissatisfaction publicly. In order to encourage
more people to use public transportation, a better public transport system should be
provided and improved from time to time. There were no comprehensive studies was
conducted previously, which is a need to provide a detailed analysis of the condition of
the bus service performance in Penang. The Transit Capacity and Quality of Service
Manual (TCQSM) was chosen as guidelines and three objectives were focused ion
Service Frequency, On Time Performance and Passenger Load Factor was chosen to be
studied based on views from journals and papers. A study will be conducted to evaluate
the performance of bus service in Terengganu. Based on the final results, a Quality of
Service (QOS) of C was obtained for the performance of MyBas Terengganu bus service
which was regarded as minimum of satisfactory.This is shown that MyBas Terengganu
buses system need to improve a lot to change the perception of passengers regarding the
bus system
