dc.description.abstract | Serdang area is considered as a mix development area with complete facilities such as roadways and connections, residential area, commercial area, and school. An observation on study the area found that Serdang area are also a high-density area with a substantially high population, triggers noise pollution and focusing on increasing of traffic growth. The purpose of this study is to measure noise level and traffic volume at Serdang area, to compare noise level with The Department of Environment Malaysia (DOE), and to investigate the relationship between noise level and traffic volume. The study was conducted in context of increasing population that leads to development of cities, that may give rise to noise pollution if it is poor planned. The study was carried out at two different places (LC 1 and LC 2) during weekdays in the morning peak hours and evening peak hours. The data collected were noise level and traffic volume. The level of noise is to be compare with the Department of Environment Malaysia (DOE) on Guideline for Environmental Noise Control 3rd edition 2019. The result shows that both LC 1 and LC 2 exceed the limit set by DOE. Noise level at LC 1 is higher during morning peak due to morning school session although high traffic volume during evening peak which was due to heavy vehicles and motorcycle. Meanwhile, noise level is at LC 2 is higher during evening peak due to noise that come from vehicles. | en_US |
