dc.description.abstract | Fly ash is residual by-products from power plant by burning coal. Usually, they are treated as a waste product and dispose in ponds. Reutilization of these waste material in civil engineering applications is beneficial as it require a large volumes of fill or back-fill materials, such as embankments and retaining structures. This thesis reports will study the effect of fly ash or PFA in stabilization material of stone column using direct shear test. Direct shear test is conducted and shear parameters, cohesion and internal friction angle, were determined after. The effectiveness % used of PFA will determine base on highest friction angle and also shear strength. | |
