One of the metal-organic framework (MOF) material known as MOF-199, with the formula of Cu₃ (BTC) ₂ (where Cu = Copper, BTC = 1, 3, 5 benzene tricarboxylic acid) is usually synthesized at room temperature. In this project, twelve samples of Cu-MOF with gum Arabic as the new linker was successfully synthesized using different parameters of stirring time of 12 and 24 hours, the addition of 1, 3 gram triethylamine (TEA). This project is to study the effect of acacia Senegal gum (Arabic Gum) as the new organic linker as an alternative of 1, 3, 5 benzene tricarboxylic acid (BTC) of synthesis on MOF-199. Numerous characterization analysis have been tested on the MOFs samples to define the MOF-199 properties that have been synthesized which involved X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometry (EDX).en_US
