dc.description.abstract | The increase of forest fire recently has increased the global temperature, which also further leads to global warming. This is because there is lack of reliable early detection technology to put out the forest fire. But by having a good forest fire detector, this issue can be mitigated. Thus, through this project, a good and reliable forest fire detector is designed based on renewable energy as its power source. By using solar and wind hybrid system to power the forest fire detector, it will be easier to install the detectors as less cabling work required. The forest fire detector is attached with MQ2 sensors to sense the presence of smoke in the forest. Once the signal is sensed, the microprocessor in the system will send signal to the authorities through a wireless communication tool called LoRa. LoRa is a wireless communication module that works based on Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN). By building this prototype, this solar and wind-based forest fire detector design sets up another step in the improvement of forest fire detection. | en_US |
