Abstract
This research thesis describes the fabrication and investigation of graphene quantum dot derived from the cellulose Oil Palm Empty Fruit Brunch for dye-sensitized solar cell application. The main objective of this research are to analyze the structure, chemical composition, optical and mechanical properties of TiO2 sensitized GQDs derived from the OPEFB cellulose photoanode, to study the absorption spectra for the GQDs from the OPEFB cellulose and to observe the electron recombination on the DSSC solar cells by using the GQDs derived from the OPEFB cellulose. The Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy analysis, Current.Voltage (IV) characteristic analysis and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy analysis have conducted on the N719 with the GQDs derived from the cellulose OPEFB and without the GQDs derived from the cellulose OPEFB to observe the solar cell performance. The performance analysis has been conducted at the laboratory, and the lab instructor will be conducting the test due to the complicated procedure and the access to the laboratory is limited.
