Abstract
The purpose of this project is to generate voltage by using thermo generator devices. For this project, TEG Peltier devices were used. The main objective was to analyse how did the water temperature at tasik UNITEN vary in a day, within 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the evening and what would happen to the TEG output due to the temperature variation of the water. In order to do this, a simulation for the system was done by using MATLAB software. Once the system was successfully simulated, a prototype was built to represent the system. The water temperature was measured by using an LED-display thermometer and the measurement was taken for every 30 minutes interval. Besides, an experiment was also conducted to test the functionality of the TEG devices. For the experiment, the hot side was represented by two 70-Watt light bulbs and the cold side was represented by the ice cubes. Before analysing the effect in real-life, a calculation was done by using the average water temperature and average surrounding temperature to find the theoretical temperature difference and output of the TEG devices. Based on the result obtained, a comparison was done between the expected output and site testing output. This paper concludes this study by proving whether the electricity generation by TEG devices is practical to be used in daily life.
